Looking for Broke Horses

Postby rancher1 » Sat May 30, 2009 12:40 pm

I'm looking for several well-broke, safe horses for children and unexperienced riders. Horse must be bombproof with good ground manners.

It really depends on the horse. I don't have a specific price range in mind. Do you have a broke horse that you're looking to sell? If so, how much were you wanting for him/her and how well is he/she broke?

We've got one for sale right now......18 yr old heading horse. Completely sound & BROKE for anyone. Before we got him he taught a 14 yr old girl to rope. We've roped, ran barrels & poles, ranched & trail rode him. We'd like to get $6000 for him.

He sounds like a really nice horse, but I think I'd need something a little younger at that price. I'm ideally looking for something in the 6-10 range. Could you attach a pic to your post though? I like the sound of everything else about your horse except his age. Are you willing to come down in price at all?

Here's his ad on here http://www.selecthorsesale.com/horseid2077/
We could come down a bit on his price probably but now a whole lot......payed more than we're asking just a little over a year ago.
Where are you located at?

Hi Sara,
He does look nice. He's everything I'm looking for except for his age -- lol. I'll think about him a bit. We're in Nebraska so we're not horribly far from you.

I hear ya on that! Good news is nobody's broke the news to him yet that he's getting old. He's the type that will put in a 28 hour day today & still want to work tomorrow. He's happiest getting used & having a purpose!

Im just logging on to this website and saw where you was looking for some well broke horses. I have two 5 yr old horses that are dead broke and bomb proof. Both have been used on trails in Tennessee and Indiana. Both have been in the front, middle, and the back and doesnt matter to them where they ride. They both have also been ridden in 4h by young riders. If this is something that you might be interested in let me know.
